I am offering for sale this Reborn baby Miguel. He is 18-19 inches and weighs 5 lbs. This baby has full arms and legs attached to a cloth body. Miguel is painted with many layers of heat set paints, his final layer is heat set matte. Complexion is ethnic, but not extremely dark. He has slightly curly dark brown rooted hair. His nails are detailed with moons and tips. Sculpted by Samantha Gregory, he has a Special Pre-Release Edition COA #28 of 60 and a signed body.

His limbs are weighted with fine glass beads, his head has a pouch of glass beads in it, and his body is stuffed with polyfil and weighted with pouches containing steel bb’s. His lashes are rooted. Miguel has a magnet inside his head for a mouth pacifier. I have placed a very small cloth pouch of scented Dreft beads inside his head and a small pouch in his body for that baby smell.

This purchase includes the clothing you see in the pictures; that is, a two piece blue shirt and shorts outfit, a pale green 2 piece Disney outfit with hat, a Little Me giraffe sleeper, a crossover onesie, a plain white onesie, various socks, two pacifiers, and a toy. I am sending a comb and brush set as well. Miguel wears preemie sized clothing. He will be shipped wrapped in a blanket.

Reborn Art Doll Baby Care Instructions
Vinyl Care – Excessive handling can cause damage to the paint. My dolls are painted with heat set paint so there is less chance of paint rubbing away, but oils from your hands and constant clothing changes can polish the vinyl making it shiny. Baby should never be placed on any printed material as the vinyl can quickly soak up the inks and dyes from printed paper. The vinyl can also soak up the dyes from baby clothing, blankets, even from your own clothing such as blue jeans that are prone to losing color when washed so you must be careful of these things. Blacks, navy blue, and reds are the most likely clothing to stain the vinyl. The vinyl should only ever be cleaned with mild soap and water on a soft cloth. Using harsh detergents could risk damaging the paint on the surface of the baby. If, for whatever reason, your doll should become dusty, use a clean soft, dry brush with which you can remove the dust from the eye without damaging the eyelashes, ears, between fingers, toes, and creases.
Hair – If your baby’s hair becomes tangled or matted use a baby brush with soft bristles or a baby comb to remove tangles. Spray with a little water and be very gentle. If the hair tends to be straight, a little curl can be encouraged by gentle fluffing when wet. A conditioner/detangler should be used sparingly. Most reborn infants are rooted with goat hair and it naturally has a “smell” to it when wet. Although mohair sellers condition and treat the hair to lessen this as much as possible, it may be impossible to completely remove. A little conditioner can help. If hair becomes soiled, a rinse out with just warm water might be sufficient but baby shampoo can be used to wash it if necessary. Be careful not to saturate the cloth body or eye area to prevent any water from becoming trapped in small places and causing mold or loosening the lashes. These are art dolls, not play dolls, and should be treated accordingly to prevent damage to them or major hair loss resulting in the need to have the head re-rooted.
Eyes – If your baby has open eyes and the lashes are glued on, repeated clothing changes can pull at them and cause then to loosen and fall off. To lessen the chances of this happening, place the hand under the article of clothing to cover the eye area to keep the fabric from rubbing across them. When storing the baby, do not place anything over the open eyes, such as a blanket,that might cause the glued lashes to be bent down.
Weighting – Reborns are weighted using fine glass beads and possibly BB’s. If by some accident the baby is damaged, the glass beads can produce a dust that can become airborne. Do NOT breathe it in, glass in your lungs is bad. The glass beads in the limbs are sealed with fiberfill and plugged but it is possible that some could escape if the doll should come apart. Just vacuum up. This is why Reborns are not approved as play dolls for children and should be kept from animals. They also contain strong magnets that could harm them if swallowed. These magnets should be kept away from electronics and pacemakers.
General Care – A reborn doll should be handled as you would a real baby. Pick it up by the body, not the limbs. The baby’s head is weighted and should be supported much like a real newborn so it doesn’t pull off. Do not allow a child to “ride” the baby astride their hips as this can pull at the body causing it to tear or the limbs to come off. Just remember to handle your baby gently, treat with care, and you will enjoy your Reborn for years to come.
