Thomas Reborn Doll handcrafted by Saint Cloud Nursery - 18 inches (45.72 cm).
This is Shoe the Thomas Realborn sculpt, created using 3D imaging of an actual newborn baby, he is in a 1/4 body with 1/4 limbs created for Jaime by Adrie Stoete and is appoximatly 18 inches long, his cloth body, arms and legs are weighted well with micro glass beads. Beads for this baby are all in stockings including limbs.
I love the feeling of a 1/4 body, it's similar to a beanie baby, very floppy and lovely to cuddle. The price reflects that I used two different kits. This is a great baby for a younger collector, someone looking for a therapy baby or comfort doll. This baby will require newborn clothing that can cover cloth body, sleepers, gowns, long sleeve onesies and little stretchy pants.
I have made a few of these over the years by request as therapy dolls, they were well received.
Shoe is painted in fair skin tones, he is painted with GHSP and sealed with satin air dry varnish, two layers. I did opt for a dewy varnish for this baby. He is painted with shading and undertones in lavender, magenta rose, amber, and winter blue with visible pink mottling. Hair is carefully painted in several shades of medium and light brown. Eyelashes are rooted with baby brown mohair. I did a tiny bit of top rooting for softness with the same baby brown mohair.
I have not painted in a while, I am back to work full time doing fine art and running my teaching art studio. I really miss painting babies and have some time this summer to play and create a handful of babies. The price on these "just home from the hospital babies" has been adjusted. I am not doing a big box opening, these babies have painted hair, but they are the same quality as all the babies I paint. There are five in this series.
Shoe is magnetized and will come with a pacifier. He is lightly scented (I do not use scented wafers) with a natural botanical spray made here in my studio.
This is an art doll and not intended for young children.
This baby was photographed in morning light.
There is no COA, this Thomas was a first edition but I am not sending COA because he has limbs from another kit.
